Do you ever record presentations you’ve delivered in meetings? Maybe you want to share it out afterwards, or perhaps you just want a simple way to practice a presentation before delivering it live.
Previously, you’d have to use a separate screen recorder, export the file, and figure out where to edit it. Now, Google Vids is integrated directly into Google Slides, making it super easy to record yourself presenting right inside your browser.
How to record your presentation in Google Slides
Open your slide deck in Google Slides
Click the new Record button on the right-hand toolbar

Click Record video to open the Google Vids recorder
Choose your camera, microphone, and recording settings (like noise cancellation), then click Next
Select the tab containing your slides and click Share
Present your slides after the countdown, then click Finish when you’re done

From here, you can click Share & copy link in the top right to instantly send the video recording to anyone, just like you would share a normal Google Doc.
But the real power comes when you click Edit. This opens your recording directly inside Google Vids, where you can:
Resize or move your camera bubble to anywhere on the screen
Adjust the slide layout on the timeline
Re-record individual parts or add extra scenes
Add captions, background audio, or other enhancements
When might this be helpful?
Async team updates: Send a video walkthrough of a marketing plan or project proposal rather than sending an unexplained deck.
Presentation practice: Record yourself presenting to check your pacing.
Onboarding and help guides: Quickly create reusable video guides for new team members directly from your existing slides.
